Start with the property and the decision ahead
Explain the purpose of your renovation and which painted surfaces will be disturbed. A planned improvement and a project specifically intended to permanently eliminate lead hazards are different scopes. Share existing paint reports and identify the rooms, components and occupants whose access needs to be coordinated.
What to clarify before work is scheduled
Raven’s EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm reference is NAT-F208888-2 for renovation, repair and painting. Discuss the appropriately qualified personnel, work-area practices and project documentation that apply. Do not assume that RRP certification includes a separate lead inspection, risk assessment or abatement scope.
Costs, approvals and project records
The written proposal should distinguish surface preparation, removal, replacement and finish work. Ask what cleaning and completion records will be supplied. Material selections, access, testing and any other trades should be coordinated before a renovation date is agreed. Keep the report and project documents for future maintenance planning.
