Start with the property and the decision ahead
Provide the material survey or laboratory results, proposed demolition plans and the areas to be disturbed. A material’s appearance cannot establish asbestos content. The removal scope should relate to identified materials, quantities, locations and the planned construction rather than a general request to remove everything.
What to clarify before work is scheduled
Ask about project-specific contractor qualifications, work boundaries, access, material handling, disposal, notifications and any independent inspection or clearance arrangements. An asbestos training certificate alone is not proof of every contractor authorization. Confirm who performs each role and who supplies the applicable project records.
Costs, approvals and project records
Identify occupancy restrictions, utilities, loading access and the contact who authorizes changes. Keep surveys, approvals, removal records and any agreed closeout documentation together. Separate asbestos removal from later kitchen, bathroom or drywall rebuilding so the proposal explains where abatement ends and construction begins.
